Temple Pylon
Temple Pylon

The pylon or gateway to the temple is perhaps one of the most memorable features of any Egyptian temple. The top of the pylon turns over, and provides a façade or gateway to the temple; it is derived from a much earlier structure. They developed from towers of woven reeds that were put around the entrance to the reed shrine enclosure.

A type of necklace. This style is very rare in Egypt and only 3 examples have been found; one at Kahun, and two others in tomb contents. It is a distinctive neck ornament that was worm over a period of 500 years in sites in western Asia.
